John Preddy
23rd November 1938 - 14th July 2006
John Preddy, the "people's golfer" and a great personal friend, sadly passed away peacefully on Friday, 14th July 2006, after a few very traumatic weeks.
John was well known to all Bunker Boys as "Private Preddy", the Transport Manager. But he was much more than that. I had the honour of sharing more than two hundred and fifty rounds of golf with him and the lasting memory is of a man whose loyalty, integrity and honesty could not be questioned. When the Bunker saw great change a year or so ago John showed his loyalty by sticking with the new owners and arranging the golf in his own inimitable style. The sometimes serious face hid a wicked sense of humour and high intelligence as he spent his days in the Bunker on Soi Chaiyapool, perpetually reading, and sustained by up to twenty mugs of tea a day and many, too many cigarettes. A confirmed bachelor, his great loves in life were Arsenal Football Club, cricket, golf and the company of good books and good friends, none more so than his soulmate, Win, for whom he had great affection. We offer our sympathy to his brothers, Jim and Donald, and all those who will miss his companionship.
The good guys of this world are never with us long enough.

Head up John and give them Hell!
